Joe performed and surprised a special guest on Irish chat show ‘The Late Late Show’s Toy Show‘ tonight! Joe briefly discussed his year after surprising a young fan and then went onto perform his new single ‘Someone Wake Me Up‘.

THE REIGNING X Factor champion wowed a huge Teesside crowd when he played at a Middlesbrough venue.

sensation Joe McElderry performed at The Empire in Middlesbrough on Monday – his second visit to the area in weeks after recently performing at Stockton’s firework display.

The 19-year-old has been fairly quiet since pipping Olly Murs to the post in last year’s X Factor final but has recently released his debut album, Wide Awake, which shot to number 3 in the UK charts and was preceded by single Ambitions which hit number 6.

Empire manager Ashley Wem said: “The event went really well. It was brilliant.

“He brought a mixed crowd which was great. We were expecting mainly under 18s but it was 50/50.

“He even stopped back after the gig for photographs and to sign autographs
. He was the first X Factor winner we have had here.

“It was a great success.”
